Make Straight The Path

Many Christians feel both heartbreak and anger over what is happening in America today, and the church often feels the most divided of all. How do we move from lament and overwhelm to Spirit-empowered impact?

It is possible to turn places of pain into places of God's presence. Rich in historical context and grounded in biblical truth, Make Straight the Path is a personal, cultural, and spiritual formation guide that invites us off the sidelines and into the sacred work of reconciliation, bringing Jesus-shaped transformation to a deeply divided culture.

About Jonathan Tremaine Thomas

Jonathan Tremaine Thomas was raised in the southern foothills of western North Carolina. He represents a unique blending of artistic history with clerical calling as a fifth-generation “preacher’s kid”, and the grand-nephew of the late Civil Rights activist and musical legend, Dr. Nina Simone.

After earning a B.S. Communications at East Carolina University in 2003 and pursuing an M.A. in Intercultural Studies at Fuller Theological Seminary; Jonathan was commissioned by Bethel World Outreach Center as a missionary and youth minister to the most violent neighborhoods in America. With a passion for the next generation, he has pastored in various contexts; most recently serving Bridgetown Church in Portland, Oregon and as New Room’s Senior Advisor of Justice and Reconciliation.

As a movement mobilizer, he has spearheaded several extensive strategic prayer initiatives at the intersection of justice and awakening including Azusa Now LA, Awaken The Dawn, OneRace Stone Mountain, The Send, and Pray On MLK. As an actor and voice-over talent, he has appeared in over 70 commercials and two feature films.

Today, Jonathan is pioneering prayer-fueled holy activism, reconciliation, and community transformation as the Executive Director of the Civil Righteousness movement;  adding author to his resume in anticipation of the October 2026 release of Make Straight The Path through Thomas Nelson publishing. Carrying an uncompromising message of heavenly identity and radical devotion to Jesus; He currently resides in Ferguson, Missouri with his wife Mollie and their teenaged daughter.
